It has excellent electrical conductivity, corrosion resistance, and wear resistance. Additionally, due to its excellent light reflectivity, it is widely used as a decorative surface treatment. Neodymium magnets are often coated with nickel plating as a base. Note that gold plating is different from gold-colored plating.
